• Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit college-readiness program designed to help students who may be the first in their families to go to college and/or who are traditionally underrepresented in college. AVID helps students develop the skills they need to be successful in college.

AVID is currently offered as an elective in grades 7 and 8 at Lucy Addison and James Breckinridge Middle Schools and grades 9 and 10 at Patrick Henry and William Fleming High Schools.

AVID's Mission: To close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
