• Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

    AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nonprofit college-readiness program designed to help students who may be the first in their families to go to college and/or who are traditionally underrepresented in college. AVID helps students develop the skills they need to be successful in college.

    AVID is offered as an elective at Lucy Addison and James Breckinridge Middle Schools and Patrick Henry and William Fleming High Schools.

    AVID's Mission: To close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
