- About Our Website
-
Our Roanoke City Public Schools websites have been created with our students and families in mind. There is something special happening in Roanoke City Public Schools, and this new online experience reflects the values, energy, excitement, and diversity of the school division, the students and families, and the City of Roanoke.
The division-level and school websites strive to be transparent, accessible, and welcoming, allowing you to easily find what you are looking for. Click on the drop-down below to learn more about new website features, and email info@rcps.info with your feedback, questions, and suggestions!
Website Features
-
Site Map
Visit our site map to view all pages on the division website. Each school has its own site map, too. To view a site map, visit the site map webpage and select the site you are looking for. You can also access the site map by scrolling to the footer (bottom) of each website and clicking "Site Map."
-
Ally Accessibility Tool
Ally is an accessibility tool integrated into all RCPS websites that allows documents to be downloaded in alternate formats, including audio, electronic braille, and HTML. You will see the Ally icon next to documents that can be downloaded in these alternate formats. You may either click on the document to download the original format, or click on the Ally symbol to choose an alternate format.
Ally also automatically checks for common accessibility issues, including many Website Content Guidelines 2.1 AA rules, and automatically alerts website editors of any issues. This allows us to proactively address errors and increase accessibility and usability, so we can be inclusive of all website visitors.

Global Icons
You'll notice "Global Icons" on the homepage of all websites. These icons are direct links to some of the most commonly-used webpages and external websites. These icons are present at the bottom of all webpages, too, so you are only ever one click away from the information you need.
-
Quick Links
Toward the bottom of the home page of all sites is a tabbed Quick Links tool. This includes commonly-used links for different types of website users. Students, for example, have quick access to web-based programs they frequently use in the classrooms.

Contact Information
Every website includes contact information at the footer (bottom) of the website. You will find the building's location, phone number for their main office, phone number for language assistance, and other important phone numbers. Click the "Get Directions" button to see the building's exact locations and receive directions.
