Schools and the division provide multiple ways for RCPS families to stay up to date on news, announcements, inclement weather alerts, school closures, and more. The best way for families to make sure they never miss an announcement is to always let your school know if your contact information changes. This will ensure you will continue to receive text, email, and phone notifications.

    1. Mass Notifications (Robocall System) – RCPS utilizes a mass notification system to communicate important information to families, such as inclement weather updates, school closures, holidays and more. The system will send out these alerts via phone call, text message, email, and app notification. It is important for families and staff to update their contact information immediately if it changes, so they will continue to receive important messages from the schools and the division.       RCPS App – Download the "RCPS Notify" App to view important links and resources, such as calendars, menus, and more. The app will also provide notifications of all robocalls, texts, emails, and app alerts. This will help ensure families don’t miss any important information.     2. Monthly Newsletters – The Star News features a message from Superintendent White, recaps of recent School Board meetings, upcoming events, important reminders, and more! Star News is sent by email through the mass notification system to everyone who has an email on file with their student’s school. Please be sure to provide your email address to your school so you can receive the monthly newsletter! It is also available on the newsletter archive page of the website for all families and community members.
    3. Podcast – Open Book is RCPS' monthly podcast, hosted by Superintendent White. Each episode features in-depth conversations with students, staff, experts, and community partners; short, rotating segments covering diverse topics; and "Parent/Guardian University," where we will provide practical tips and support for families navigating the educational journey.
