Patrick Henry's AFJROTC Earns Top Rating in Unit Assessment
The Air Force Junior ROTC unit at Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke has been awarded an "Exceeds Standards" rating following a formal Unit Assessment conducted by the Department of the Air Force. This is the highest rating attainable and reflects the dedication of both students and staff in maintaining a high-quality program.
During the assessment, the evaluator commended the strong level of school support for the program, the cadets’ professionalism and personal appearance, impressive drill and color guard performances, extensive community outreach efforts, and the unit’s robust wellness program. Additionally, the positive relationships between cadets and their instructor were noted as a key strength.
MSgt. (Ret.) Terry Mills, the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, was recognized for his leadership and commitment to providing a dynamic and supportive learning environment. His efforts, along with those of the cadets, contributed to the program’s outstanding evaluation.
