All fourth graders taking field trips to the museum in downtown Roanoke.  The trips include plenty of exploration and applying historical thinking.  The activities align with the Virginia Studies SOL.

Students visit six different stations.  In one group, students learn about famous Virginians.  In another, students use an activity book to identify the different modes of transportation throughout history.

The field trips also include an unit on train safety, especially around train tracks.
