The NAMM Foundation has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education for SEVEN consecutive years.  Only 623 school districts across the country received this designation.  Click here for the list

The award recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education.  Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.

Here at Roanoke City Schools, every elementary student has access to musical instruments, thanks to VH1 Save the Music Foundation.  Middle and high schools have orchestras, bands, and choral programs.

Our students have recently performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Orchestra Hall in Chicago.
