Welcome to the second half of the school year.  Roanoke City Public Schools congratulates YOU on a successful year so far. The list is impressive.  Here are some accomplishments so far:

All schools are accredited

90% on-time graduation rate

Caroline Eschenbach of Virginia Heights Elementary received a $25,000 prize from the Milken Foundation

Jamie Nichols of Lucy Addison Middle is Region 6 Teacher of the Year

Nicole Doherty of Patrick Henry High School was named Outstanding American History Teacher by the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution.

Crystal Spring, Grandin Court, and Wasena Elementary Schools received the 2018 Virginia Index of Performance Awards

Our music programs continue to thrive thanks to VH1 Save the Music Foundation

Forest Park Academy has graduated more than 1,100 students since its inception a decade ago

Phase 1 of the new Fallon Park Elementary is nearing completion. The school also received a $2,000 grant from Washington Redskins Foundation to purchase a new washer and dryer for the school

Lucy Addison Middle received $9,000 from the Virginia Lottery as part of the "Made in Virginia" Program

Books and Breakfast expanded to Westside Elementary. This program is made possible thanks to Turn the Page. The program is also offered at Hurt Park Elementary.

The STAR Council has raised close to $25,000 this year for homeless students. The group is made up of students from Patrick Henry & William Fleming High Schools
