Our teachers are at the heart of our mission to empower all students to dream, excel, and meet their full potential to benefit our city and its citizens. As part of the RCPS team, you will be able to make a direct, positive impact on the students you teach, while also experiencing your own growth inside and outside of the classroom.

• Secondary math and science teachers
• Elementary teachers
• Special Education teachers

We have strong support and structure in place to ensure our teachers have what they need to succeed as educators. In turn, our teachers are able to provide our students with what they need to succeed. RCPS leads the Roanoke Valley in teacher pay, and our total compensation package includes competitive benefits, including no-cost medical and dental plans and membership in the Virginia Retirement System.

RCPS also offers high-quality courses and workshops through our dedicated Department of Professional Learning. In addition, our Human Resources team offers unique resources and support for new educators, such as Boosting Opportunities for New & Diverse Staff (BONDS) and Great Beginnings Mentors.
