Eligible employees must elect or waive benefit coverage.
Proof of Dependent
Eligibility:
If adding new dependents during Open
Enrollment, employees are required to submit proof of eligibility by the last day of the Open Enrollment period. As a New Hire or due to a Qualifying Event, proof of
eligibility is also required for new dependents within 31 calendar days of the
date of hire or a Qualifying Event. If ineligible dependents are
found, they will be removed from the plan.
Updates for 2023:
- Health and Limited Flexible Spending Account (FSA) maximum: $3,050.
- No increase in Vision rates.
- Virtual Physical Therapy provided by Kaia at no additional cost to employees and their dependents age 18+ enrolled in a UHC medical plan. Kaia uses artificial intelligence (AI) to track your movements.
- 2nd.MD Second Opinion service is provided at no additional cost to those employees in a UHC medical plan. The Second Opinion service offers access to convenient consultations with medical experts, virtually and by phone.
- Effective January 1, 2023, additional medications will be added to the list of those requiring step therapy, quantity limits and prior authorization. If your medication is impacted, you will receive a letter advising you of this change and entailing any action needed or available alternatives.
- Medical and Dental rates have increased; RCPS makes every effort to provide affordable insurance rates for our employees. This increase in premiums is due to Increased medical costs, prescription drug costs, and claims. ENROLLMENT

be both a healthier workforce and reduced overall health care costs.

Compliant Requirement:
RCPS’ wellness program is offered through UnitedHealth Personal Rewards® program. Here’s the only requirement:
- Complete a preventive physical examination between January 1, 2023 and September 30, 2023. No paperwork is required. Instead, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) will receive the physical code submitted by your provider’s office when billing UHC.
Real Appeal, this is a comprehensive weight loss program for employees enrolled in the medical plan.
- Real Appeal can help you reach your personal weight loss goals and help reduce your risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. It’s an easy digital program offered at no cost to you as part of our medical benefits plan through RCPS.

Smoking Cessation Reimbursement will continue. This reimbursement is for a Provider Recommended Smoking (or other tobacco product) Cessation program. The reimbursement is for program costs, up to a one-time total of $500. If you
terminate employment, wellness reimbursement will end on your last day worked.
