For several rounds, the contestant from Woodrow Wilson Middle and James Breckinridge Middle battled word by word.  At one point, the judges had to check the rule book to answer a question about procedures.  In the end, Andrew Harmon of Woodrow Wilson Middle won in the 10th round with the word "collision."

Andrew will now compete at the Regional Spelling Bee in March.  Thanks to WDBJ-TV's Robin Reed for emceeing this year's Spelling Bee.
