RCPS' Library Media Services vision is that all students and staff will use information with skill and discrimination to fulfill their lifelong reading, learning, and knowledge needs.

Library Media Services builds a foundation for lifelong learning through developing information literacy in students, teaching and instilling a love of literature and reading for information and for pleasure, supporting teacher-led student learning and discovery, and providing intellectual and physical access to the highest quality information resources in a variety of formats.

Each school has a library on campus, and all students and staff have access to these libraries. Library Media Services acquires, catalogs, processes, and distributes library materials. In addition to administering school library lending, Library Media Services provides a collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and online databases for all students and staff.
