					RCPS Joins Q99 in Helping to “Pack the Bus” for Underprivileged Children at Local Wal-Marts
					FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 8, 2011 CONTACT: Tiffany Woods Director for Public Relations PHONE: 540.853.2905 540.853.2816 EMAIL: tdwoods@rcps.info Roanoke City Public Schools and Q99 Radio will host the annual Pack the Bus event on Tuesday, August 9 at the Valley View Wal-Mart and on Wednesday, August 10 at the Clearbrook Wal-Mart. Both events will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Roanoke City Schools and Q99 are partnering together to fill a school bus with school supplies to benefit underprivileged children. People in the community are encouraged to drop off donations at each of the Wal-Marts or purchase school supplies and gift cards to leave with Q-99 staff on location. The supplies collected will be distributed to families this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Back to School Blast in the Civic Center.
