Radio Station Collects School Supplies to Benefit RCPS Students

Q99 will host the annual Pack the Bus event on Tuesday, August 11 at the Valley View Wal-Mart and on Wednesday, August 12 at the 220 Wal-Mart. Both events will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Q99's goal is to fill a school bus with school supplies to benefit underprivileged students.

Supplies donated to Roanoke City Schools will be distributed at the Back-to-School Extravaganza on August 29, 2009 at Patrick Henry High School from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Businesses participating in the event with in-house school supply drives are Trane, The Law Offices of Daniel L. Crandall, Blue Ridge Masonry Association, Virginia Gentlemen Barbershop Chorus, Valley View Grande, WDBJ7, Valley Metro, Roanoke Valley Federal Credit Union, Postal Employees Federal Credit Union, Ashley HomeStore, and Lee Hartman and Sons, Inc.
