Superintendent Rita Bishop will present her vision for the 2009-10 school year during the convocation for all teachers and faculty. Dr. Bishop will also celebrate some of the most recent accomplishments within the division and discuss new initiatives outlined in the strategic plan. The event will be held Monday, August 31 at 9am in the Roanoke Civic Center.

School Board Chairman, David Carson and Virginia Teacher of the Year, Stephanie Doyle will also be featured speakers in the program. There will be live musical performances from RCPS students to help kick-off the start of the school year. City and government leaders along with school board members will be attending the event.
