Welcome to Jackson Middle School! It is with great pride that I serve as principal of Stonewall Jackson Middle School. It is hard to believe that I am beginning my sixth school year in this position, it just seems like yesterday I arrived. The staff and students at SJMS have diligently been working towards meeting state and AYP standards and it has finally paid off!! Stonewall Jackson Middle School will be fully accredited for the 2009-2010 school year based on the state standards. This feat was accomplished because all stakeholders committed to work hard and always do their very best. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt, that SJMS has the BEST students and staff in Roanoke City. There is no other place where I would rather serve. I know by committing to work together, the students and staff will continue on the path towards excellence, making SJMS a shining star for Roanoke City Public Schools.
