Destination: Summer Time Theme of Summer School Students in summer school had a wonderful time and learned so much. The theme was centered around destinations in Virginia. Each week, students read books that were specially prepared for summer programs. Classrooms were organized around railroad stops in Virginia in place of traditional grade arrangements. Students prepared schedules of trips that allowed them to take a train to a destination in Virginia. The program ended with a trip to the Virginia Museum of Transportation in downtown Roanoke to see many forms of transportation.
