Course Description:  Inservice
Make your MOODLE Site more interactive using HTML5 Modules. Learn how to make true multiple hot spots and mark the word activities.

Making and Using Student Videos in your Classroom lessons
Course Description: Inservice
Students love watching videos, so why not incorporate making videos into your classroom lessons.  Learn how to use the PASS laptops to make, edit, save and present student videos into your classroom lessons. Students will enjoy teaching content through making videos, come learn how to make it happen. 

Classroom Collaboration
Course Description: Recertification or Inservice
This course will allow administrators and teachers to earn recertification points through the use of Office365 collaboration tools during the course of the school year.  An important focus of this course will be usage of Office365 sharing features to improve document load and work efficiency amongst teachers and administrators.  The course will help school staff ‘work smarter, not harder’, reducing the minutes and hours spent navigating folders, emailing files, and searching on the network drives.    

Jan 23 - Fleming High School (4:00 – 5:00)
Introduction to Moodle

Course Description: 
 Recertification
Participants will learn to create an online class including quizzes, drop box, and managing class submissions. This course requires attendance one face-to-face class and online project completion.  

Office 365

Jan 30 - Round Hill Elementary (3:00 – 4:00)
One Note Notebook

Course Description:
 Recertification
This course will offer an overview of how to create a OneNote Notebook for teachers to either use personally for organizing units or to create a unit for their students to use. Teachers will create a Notebook and learn to add sections, pages, and upload documents.

SMART Notebook 17
Course Description:  Inservice
SMART Notebook 17 has a whole new look since SMART Notebook 11. Come explore the latest features of SN 17 including the new SMART lab, improved add-ons, and properties tools. You'll be so excited to start updating your SN 11 lesson. 

More Coding Fun with Ozobot 
Course Description:  Inservice
These mini robots can be used with a coding site using Blockly or can be used with paper and markers.  Come and see if they have a favorite color, use them with a computer and build a race to see who can finish first.

Open Education Resources are used to maximize the power of the Internet to make educational materials more accessible, more effective for learners, and free. We will show you how to share, adapt, and build off existing materials.  You will leave with free content to use in your class tomorrow.  Great materials are now free at last.  

Get Your Classroom STREAMing!
Course Description: - Inservice
Office365 now features STREAM, an app that allows you to record everything from a computer tutorial to an entire lesson’s on-screen activity. Learn how to create a STREAM video, a classroom channel, and let your students learn from you wherever they are.

Digital Storytelling
Course Description: Inservice
Digital storytelling is the process of combining images, text, music, and spoken words to tell a story. This is a great way to encourage student creativity while also making writing fun!  Learn the principles of digital storytelling and how this process can be integrated into your lessons.

SMART Notebook Make and Take

Have you ever said to yourself: "If only I knew how to make my lessons more interesting."? Well now you have at least an hour to do so with assistance and get credit. Bring along a SMART notebook lesson and explore tools and tips to make it more fun and engaging for your students.

RCPS has been introducing students to robotics and programming using several awesome robot resources including Dash & Dot, Lego Wedo 2.0 Kits, and Ozobots. Come explore how to use our robot friends as reading resources and how they can be utilized to engage and excite young readers.

Course Description: Recertification or Inservice
Come learn the more advanced features of SMART Notebook 17. We will review the basics briefly but focus on features new to this version. Learn how to incorporate SMART lab activities into your existing content and create new games to make learning more interactive. Must have SMART 17 installed on computer before attending class.
