Course: Koru Mindfulness (Basic)
Description:
Koru Basic is an evidence-based program, teaching mindfulness skills as a way to better manage stress and reduce anxiety in a supportive class with colleagues. This is an introductory program, so you do not need prior experience to enroll. You will learn skills that help calm and focus your mind, including breathing exercises, guided imagery, body scan, mindful walking, and more. Through learning how to be more mindful, you may experience less stress, better sleep, and less self-judgment. Koru Basic is a four-session class which progresses over four weeks. There is “home practice” involved, so that you are practicing the new skills that you learn in class throughout the week. This class is taught by a certified mindfulness teacher and all sessions will be on Zoom. Class participants will receive further instruction via email, including the Zoom link for each class. (Those who complete Koru Basic may wish to enroll in Koru 2.0 in the future.)
