At Garden City Elementary, students have been gathering new school supplies to send to students at Little Bay Primary School in Rockport, Texas.  Principal Lane chose that school because it is similar in size to Garden City.

At Noel Taylor Learning Academy, students are sponsoring a Penny Drive.  They plan to donate all the money to the American Red Cross.

Fairview Elementary is doing several things to help hurricane victims.  Before heading to Texas, Captain Monica Selier of the Roanoke Salvation Army talked to first graders about her relief mission.  The students created homemade cards and collected toiletries.  Captain Selier plans to hand them out while in Texas.

The entire school participated in a fundraiser to help our four legged friends.  Students could bring stuffed animals to school if they brought $1.  All the money will be donated to the SPCA to help animals impacted by Hurricane Harvey.  The students raised more than $200.
