11 State Championships won in one weekend

Patrick Henry High School Swim Team posing with its coachesBoth Patrick Henry and William Fleming High Schools were well represented at the podium this past weekend.  Between the two high schools, our athletes won 11 State Championships!  Several broke state records.  Congratulations to all the champs.  Here's a list of the results:

Patrick Henry High School's Girls Swim Team won the State Championship for the second year in a row.

Girls' 200 Medley Relay (Cabell Whitlow, Ella Higgins, Whittney Hamilton, Shelby Stanley) - 5A Record, All time VA state record

Girls 200 Freestyle- Caroline Kulp

Girls 50 Free - Whittney Hamilton - 1st - 23.08 - 5a State Record

Girls 100 Fly - Whittney Hamilton - 1st - 53.21 - 5a state record

Girls 500 Free - Caroline Kulp

Women 200 Free Relay (Caroline Kulp, Cabell Whitlow, Taylor Summerlin, Brooke Knisely) - 1st - 1.36.31 - 5a VA state record

Girls 400 Free Relay (Caroline Kulp, Shelby Stanley, Brooke Knisley, Whittney Hamilton) - 1st - 3.25.98 - 5a State record, All time VA State record

Patrick Henry Boys Swim Team-100 Back - Noah Bowers

Patrick Henry High School's Theo Thaxton won a State Championship for Wrestling in the 113 Ibs category

Tyress Wade of William Fleming High School won the 4A State Championship in the 106lb. We're told this is the first State Championship for William Fleming in Wrestling in 29 years!

The William Fleming High School Boys Indoor Track Team won the Regional Championship.
